Traditional videoconferencing & web conferencing are converging and will become the same thing in time. At the moment we have specialist equipment for videoconferencing eg Polycom, TANDBERG, Sony etc. It now operates over IP (Internet Protocol) thereby using the same platform as web conferencing.
Web conferencing works from your computer & is usually a small piece of ’software’ downloaded onto your computer. Wuih the addition of a web cam you can videoconference. You can find out more about web conferencing in a free eBook available from:
