Working For Good Videoconference Report
May 2, 2006 | |
I stayed up last night to view the Working For Good Videoconference (midnight AEST) organised by Global Nomads Group. Topic for this first session was The Entrepreneurial Spirit. (Vew the webcast.)
Students in three sites in the USA - Austin, Washington & New York - linked with a group of 23 students in Amritsar, Punjab, India. This school is truly International with students from France, USA, South Africa, Mexico, Germany and Argentina learning how to be leaders with a conscience.
The students belong to some interesting organisations that foster entrepreneurship:
Future Business Leaders of America and Bootstrap Austin
This was the first of 3 sessions and involved introductions and discussion around the notion of entrepreneurship and how it can have/foster a social conscience. They discussed issues around working for good, government regulations, improving the world, having a sense of pride in doing work that is making a difference and the notion of an entrepreneur & what it means.
It was encouraging to hear 17-year olds talking about problems they would tackle as socially responsible entrepreneurs.
Topics to be covered in the next two sessions are:
Entrepreneurs in Service – 3 May midnight AEST
Liberating the Entrepreneurial Spirit for Good – 4 May midnight AEST
If you want to view only via webcast register online & you’ll be emailed joining instructions.
